Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty, also known as “Lipectomy” is a mayor procedure designed to remove the excess skin and fat from the lower, medium or round abdomen (these are the three different modalities for this kind of surgery). It is used to tense the muscles from the abdominal walls as well.

This surgery can reduce dramatically the appearance of a swollen abdomen. The patient must realize that, as a consequence of this surgical procedure, a permanent scar will be originated and its size will vary depending on the original problem and the technique used to fix it. The scar length will also depend of the surgeon’s surgical techniques and for this reason the patient must evaluate carefully the selection of the specialist that will proceed with the surgery.
